“Cotton” on a label is easy to write. We check every batch the same way, so what you see in the photos is what you get.

Weighed

We weigh the fabric to confirm its thickness (GSM). Heavier cotton absorbs more and lasts longer.

We wash samples at 40°C before shipping, to check that colours hold and no loose fibres come away.

We measure every size after washing, so a towel listed at 40 × 70 cm is 40 × 70 cm in your bathroom.

Karur, in Tamil Nadu, has woven cotton for homes around the world for generations. Its mills and weavers make the towels and table linen that hotels and households rely on every day.

PAVU was started by a Kerala family living in Dubai who wanted the same honest cotton they grew up with, at home in the UAE. We work directly with Karur weavers and check every batch before it ships.

How your towels are made

Cotton yarn arrives

Combed cotton yarn is checked for count and strength before it goes to the loom.

Setting the paavu

The long warp threads are wound onto the loom beam. This is the step our name comes from.

Weaving

The weft is woven through the warp, row by row, into terry, waffle or plain cloth.

Dyeing

Fabric is dyed to our colour standard so every batch matches the last.

Washing and testing

Samples are weighed, washed at 40°C and measured before the batch is approved.

Stitching and packing

Edges are double-stitched, then each set is folded, labelled and packed for the UAE.

Pre-washed cotton napkins for everyday meals and dinners with guests. Soft from the first use and easy to iron.
